WJ-12 Fastening System

WJ-12 fastener is a kind of double block or long tie buried ballastless track fastener used in heavy haul railway. It is composed of T-bolt, flat washer, nut, spring bar, insulated gauge block, gauge baffle, underrail cushion plate, iron cushion plate, elastic cushion plate under iron cushion plate, preset height adjusting cushion plate and embedded iron base. In addition, in order to adjust the high and low position of the rail, the gauge baffle is also included.

Component Composition and Description

The WJ-12 fastening system (hereinafter referred to as the fastening system) consists of a T-bolt, flat washer, nut, spring clip, insulated gauge block, gauge stop plate, under-rail pad, steel shim plate, elastic shim plate beneath the steel shim plate, pre-set height adjustment shim plate, and embedded steel base plate. Additionally, to accommodate rail height adjustments, a height adjustment shim plate beneath the gauge stop plate is included.

1. T-bolts

T-bolts are available in two types: Type I and Type II. Type I is used for standard assembly or when the height adjustment does not exceed 5mm. Type II is used when the height adjustment exceeds 5mm.

2. Gauge plates

Gauge plates come in two models: No. 31 and No. 35. For standard gauge, No. 31 is used on the outer side and No. 35 on the inner side.

3. Insulated Gauge Blocks

Insulated gauge blocks are available in Type I and Type II. They are respectively paired with 60kg/m and 75kg/m rails. Type I includes five sizes: No. 8, No. 10, No. 12, No. 14, and No. 16. For standard gauge, No. 14 is used on the outer side and No. 10 on the inner side. Type I includes four sizes: No. 9, No. 11, No. 13, and No. 15. For standard gauge, No. 13 is used on the outer side and No. 11 on the inner side.

4. Rail Base Plates

Rail base plates are available in six thicknesses: 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, and 11mm. The standard thickness for normal installation is 6mm.

5. Gauge Stop Lower Height Adjustment Plates

Gauge stop lower height adjustment plates come in two thicknesses: 5mm and 11mm. They are placed between the pre-set height adjustment plates and the elastic pads beneath the iron base plates.
