Spring bar typeⅠ fastener is a commonly used type of fastener on railways. Its components include: threaded spikes, nuts, flat washers, elastic clips, gauge plates, plate seats, and rubber pads.
It is applicable to the straight sections of standard gauge railways and curve sections with a radius of ≥ 300mm. It is connected to 50kg/m and 60kg/m rails and is the main type of fastener for concrete sleeper tracks in China.
Scope of Application
Type I Fastening System are used to connect 50 and 60 kg/m rails to prestressed concrete sleepers and prestressed concrete wide sleepers on standard gauge railways with straight sections and curves having a radius of no less than 300 meters, with a maximum adjustment height of 10 mm.

Type I fastenings and Type II fastenings are elastic fastenings developed with the application of concrete sleepers and the laying of continuous welded rail lines. They are currently widely used on rail lines. This fastening consists of rail clips, screw spikes, gauge plates, plate seats, rubber pads, etc. Concrete sleepers are equipped with shoulder plates, and the fastening is bolted. Similarly, spiral spikes anchored in the concrete sleeper secure the clip to clamp the rail.
The clip adopts an Ω shape, with gauge plates and plate seats cooperating to adjust the gauge. To accommodate large adjustment requirements, the Type I height-adjustable clip was developed. Type I and II clip fastenings are suitable for tracks using 60 kg/m rails laid as continuous welded rail. Type I clip fastenings are also applicable for tracks using 50 kg/m rails.
Fastening Components
Type I fastenings primarily consist of rail clips, screw spikes, nuts, flat washers, gauge plates, plate seats, and rubber pads. Type I fastening rail clips are available in A and B variants. Type A rail clips are mainly installed on 50 kg/m rails, with No. 14 gauge plates used at rail joints.
