European Giant Launches Rail Flatcar Platform

Slovak manufacturer Tatravagonka unveiled its universal TVP BOX Carrier platform at the Munich Transport Logistics Trade Fair, focusing on the intermodal transportation of containers and swap bodies. This model is designed to transport 12 - foot, 20 - foot, 30 - foot, and 40 - foot containers. Its structural flexibility and multiple loading options support efficient logistics operations.

The TVP BOX Carrier platform has 8 axles, a tare weight of 30.8 tons, and a load capacity of 149.2 tons. The 22.5 - ton axle load limit complies with current European standards. It is not only suitable for standard containers. Thanks to its foldable accessory brackets, it can also handle steel plates, coils, and tank containers. In addition, the freight car is compatible with modular bodies such as Grainbox hoppers, making it an ideal choice for transporting bulk agricultural products. It also allows the loading of oversized containers that extend beyond the edge of the platform. Renfe Mercancías, the freight division of Spain's national railway Renfe, has awarded a contract to Slovakian Tatravagónka for the supply of 149 rail freight cars, worth over 39 million euros. Tatravagónka has a 22 - month period to deliver the freight cars in two batches.
