Manufactured by Alstom and assembled in Hornell, New York, the train has a top speed of 257 km/h. A total of 28 new trains will be gradually put into operation by 2027, with New Yorkers getting the first ride on the initial 5 trains as early as August this year. The new carriages have a 27% increase in capacity and more frequent services. They are equipped with a café, USB ports and high-speed Wi-Fi, with first-class seats offering ample legroom. Features like ergonomic seats and large windows enhance the travel experience.

Components of the train come from over 180 suppliers across 29 U.S. states, creating about 15,000 jobs. With lower energy consumption than short-haul flights and driving, it contributes to sustainable transportation. As the core of Amtrak's fleet modernization plan, it will work in conjunction with new trains on other lines and facility upgrades, driving U.S. railways toward a smarter, greener future.
