Recently, Morocco has approved a significant project worth $1.53 billion. It plans to roll out double-decker electric trains across the country, which marks a crucial milestone in the development of the country's public transportation infrastructure.

This project is dedicated to modernizing railway travel. It can effectively alleviate urban congestion and greatly enhance the convenience of daily commuting. It is reported that Hyundai Rotem is responsible for delivering electric trains to the Moroccan national railway operator, ONCF, and nearly 90% of the train parts are from South Korea.
Chafik Rachadi, the Moroccan ambassador to South Korea, stated that this agreement demonstrates the strong attractiveness of Morocco as an investment destination and reflects the high recognition of Morocco's strategic advantages by enterprises. From an environmental perspective, electric trains will establish a transportation system that does not rely on traditional polluting energy. Morocco's increased investment in solar and wind energy has amplified the environmental benefits of this transportation transformation. Morocco is advancing towards becoming a leader in the utilization of renewable energy, and the revival of its railway may herald the beginning of even greater development.
