Czech Railways (ČD) and Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) have officially launched the new ComfortJet train, which will start providing high-standard international long-distance services from December 2025. These services include a new direct route departing from Prague and passing through Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt, and Villach, offering more convenient options for cross-border travel.
The new ComfortJet train features a 9-car formation with a total of 555 seats, 113 more than previous models. Among these seats, 99 are in first class, better catering to the travel needs of different passengers. Between the two major cities of Vienna and Prague, 9 Railjet trains will operate daily, 6 of which can connect seamlessly with the ComfortJet. Additionally, early-morning and late-night services will be added: the early-morning train departs Vienna for Prague at 5:10, while the late-night train arrives in Vienna at 23:49. This schedule flexibly accommodates both business travelers seeking efficient commutes and tourists taking day trips.
