In 2021, Austrian Railways introduced the new-generation Nightjet sleeper train, built by Siemens Mobility and put into service in 2022. Featuring a super-modern design, each train includes 2 seating cars, 3 sleeper cars with mini-suites for solo travelers, and 2 luxury sleeper cars with private bathrooms and showers (XL cabins), dedicated to enhancing privacy and comfort for overnight passengers.

The sleeper cars are equipped with EAO Passenger Interface phone charging systems, supporting the Qi wireless standard compatible with most modern Android and iOS devices. Passengers can place phones on the anti-slip table charger or slide them into wall-mounted charging holsters, which also offer traditional USB ports for older phones, tablets, or other devices. The charging solution further includes SliderFLEX vertical/horizontal chargers installed on airline-style seat backs. Desktop chargers can be mounted via bottom grooves or top adapters, with optional extra USB-A ports for a second device.
Integrated iBeacon passenger positioning technology uses low-power Bluetooth to broadcast unique IDs, enabling operators to real-time identify seat occupancy. All chargers and power supplies are fully certified for rail vehicles, complying with standards like EN50121-3-2 EMC, EN45455-2 fire safety, and EN 61373 shock/vibration.
