Turkey has officially launched the construction of its first domestic high-speed train factory, which is specifically designed for the manufacturing and testing of domestic electric high-speed trains with a speed of 225 km/h. The establishment of this factory marks a crucial step in Turkey's pursuit of autonomous development in its railway system and represents a milestone in promoting the upgrading of the local railway industry.
In terms of production capacity, once completed, the factory will be able to manufacture and test 12 complete sets of high-speed trains annually. This will significantly enhance Turkey's domestic production capacity for high-speed trains and provide core equipment support for the expansion of the country's high-speed rail network. The Turkish government has clearly stated that the construction and operation of the factory will effectively reduce the country's reliance on foreign suppliers in the field of high-speed rail equipment, while accelerating the modernization of the domestic transportation network and further improving the national comprehensive transportation system.

The new factory is located within the jurisdiction of the Sakarya Regional Directorate of TÜRASAŞ (Turkish Railway Systems and Rolling Stock Industry Company), covering an area of 15,000 square meters. As a key project in Turkey's railway industry, it will become a core pillar of domestic railway equipment manufacturing in the future. Notably, the entire construction process of the factory will only use local Turkish resources, from design, building materials to construction teams, fully embodying the concept of "full autonomy" and demonstrating Turkey's determination to achieve independent and controllable railway technology.

The value of this factory lies not only in meeting the domestic demand for high-speed trains but also in providing strong support for the improvement of Turkey's railway system R&D capabilities, the optimization of technical infrastructure, the cultivation of local industrial chains, and overall economic growth, driving the coordinated development of upstream and downstream industries. Previously, Turkey had already achieved mass production of domestic electric trains with a speed of 160 km/h, and currently, 3 sets of this model are in operation on the Adapazarı-Gebze line; the R&D and production of the 225 km/h high-speed train this time is another important breakthrough for Turkey in the field of railway technology. It is of far-reaching significance for further reducing dependence on external technology, enhancing the country's transportation competitiveness, and consolidating its position as a regional transportation hub.
