On the historic monorail line between Lemgo and Extertal in North Rhine - Westphalia, gyro - stabilized single - seat cabs will operate in a continuous cycle, similar to a paternoster. Passengers can book the rail taxi to travel alone to villages or cities.

CountryCab combines the concept of single - unit cabs, autonomous driving, historic railway lines, volunteer companies, regional networks, gyro - stabilized monorail technology, and the paternoster idea to create a vehicle for the future of rural areas. The single cab maintains balance on the monorail of the track. This is achieved through gyroscopic force: a rotating gyroscope fixes its position in space and provides strong resistance to attempts to tilt its rotation axis. This gyroscopic force is used in many devices to stabilize their positions, such as gyroscopes, missiles, spacecraft, or Segway scooters.
On the Lemgo - Extertal monorail line, the monorail taxi can travel from one station to another at any time, just like in a bucket chain car. This can be done in two - way traffic because the cabin maintains balance on the monorail. If necessary, passengers can book the single - unit taxi like a regular taxi via an app: “Alexa, get the car!” Then, the single - seat cab responds independently. It autonomously controls for users within the movement chain, while being master - controlled via route sensors and movement data.
The single - seat cabs operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are more taxis on the route during peak hours and fewer at night. The idea of CountryCab is part of the SMART RAILWAY project portfolio of the Landeseisenbahn Lippe e.V. association. This can add a mobility project to make Nordlippe a hub for mobility research and development. Much of what’s needed already exists: the line is available for use, and actors and partners are on the platform, ready to go.
